Survey finds pumpkin spice enjoyers have a lower iq
Solanos, September 13, 2026- Pumpkin Spice flavoring has been a staple to the fall season in the United States. It has roots in medieval Europe, gained traction in the 1800s and finally became extremely culturally significant in 2004 with the release of Pumpkin Spice Lattes. On thing that I find interesting is that pumpkin spice everything gets released sometimes as early as late August. The fall equinox is late September, so our beloved spice blend that is associated with the fall, is released in the summer. When the fall actually comes around, we celebrate with winter flavors. We are an impatient bunch, aren’t we?
Pumpkin spice has long been associated with young American white women. Some suggest that the aversion to pumpkin spice is related to misogyny. Given its popularity amongst women, it tends to be looked down upon by those who also look down upon women. Others believe that the pumpkin blend is simply disliked due to personal preference, but I prefer to err on the side of exaggeration. Regardless of how you feel, this flavor and/or scent is here to stay. It has infiltrated its way to pastries, cakes, toothpaste, soaps, candles, perfumes, paint thinner, protein shakes, the new iPhone 18, you name it, it will come in pumpkin spice edition.
A survey was conducted in back of a local coffee shop in Columbus, Pennsylvania by the lead barista on shift. With a sample size of 4 people, the abrasive barista had his customers take an online IQ test and also fill out a questionnaire. The questionnaire asked the coerced participants a series of questions related to their affinity of pumpkin spice. In a shocking turn of events, none of the four participants ever returned to the shop. As for the results, two of participants, one male and one female, stated they did not enjoy pumpkin spice, and had an average IQ of 106, according to the online quiz. The other two, one female and one ambiguous looking person, stated they loved pumpkin spice, and had an average IQ of 101.
There you have it, folks. The science is clear. People who enjoy pumpkin spice are less intelligent than their peers. We will keep in contact with this barista for more groundbreaking research. Until then, keep enjoying your pumpkin spice lattes, I know I will!
